Title:Darling wa Namamono nitsuki
Flower Comics, 1997
As you might guess from the cover, this series is mainly a sex comedy. This is one of my favorite smutty comedies! It’s so silly, and the heroine in this is so amusing, that I couldn’t resist including a summary for it on this site! However, if sex-comedies aren’t your thing, you might want to stop reading now ^_^ The situations and jokes that run throughout the series, while not as crude as what you may find in a shounen series, are rather silly. But I can’t help laughing! Anyway, This is a manga story that runs in Petite Comics, and there are currently 8 volumes published.
This is the amazing adventure of Setsuko. By day, she works as an office lady at a large corporation. At night she helps out as a waitress in a hostess club. This is the type of club that features hostesses that are actually guys in drag, either regular drag, or all-out transsexuals. Setsuko is the only actual female who works there. One evening a large group of business men comes into the bar. In her rush to help them, Setsuko spills some very hot drinks on her shirt. Ouch! But no fear, one of the business men at the club is a very handsome young doctor, who takes Setsuko to the restroom and helps her make sure her burns are iced. His name is Tanabe, and he, uh, inspects the burned area thoroughly to be certain no harm is done. Poor Setsuko is embarrassed, but can’t help noticing how cute Tanabe is.
The next day at her office job, Setsuko experiences one of the most popular plot devices out there- cosmic coincidence. You see, her work has a new doctor, and, wouldn’t you know it, it’s the cute guy from the night before! Unfortunately, while Tanabe DOES recognize Setsuko, he seems to be under the impression that she is a guy in drag! Despite his rather.. close.. inspection of her chest, he thinks she is just another one of the transsexuals who worked at the club! How mortifying! After clearing up that little misunderstanding, a rather bizarre series of events occurs that eventually ends up with Tanabe and Setsuko getting married when they barely know each other. These two strangers are suddenly married.. how can they make it last? What follows are many funny stories about their married life, usually involving their sex life in some way, but also including other things like dealing with their in-laws, jealousy, coworkers working all the time, vacations, and more. I always laugh a lot when reading this series, but I think you have to have a silly sense of humor to appreciate all of it.
