Title:Sekai wa Bokura no Tameni
(The World is For Us) (?)
Flower Comics, 2006
You should know by now that I am a sucker for smutty shoujo manga involving student-teacher relationships. Just look at the number of them I already have posted on here. What can I say, guilty pleasure ^_- Here is yet another entry into that splendid genre. This time the tables are turned a little bit. The heroine is the teacher, and she is having an affair with her student. Heh, this can only happen in shoujo manga land! In reality, he would probably have a myspace page bragging about his exploits, and she would be fired/arrested so fast… but not in shoujo manga land! There they can frolic all they want with few consequences. Muwahahaha.
OGAWA Maho is a young, fresh teacher who just arrived in Tokyo to take on a new teaching position at a high school there. Things don’t go as she planned, however, when she breaks up with her boyfriend whom she had been dating for 6 years. Distraught over her breakup, Maho has a one-night stand with a guy she meets on the street (again, don’t try this at home kids, only in shoujo manga land). The encounter was, shall we say, memorable… and manages to cheer Maho up enough that she can face her new job and move on with her life. Of course she is shocked when she discovers that the random guy she spent the night with happens to be one of the students in her new class! OF COURSE!
His name is HIROSE Minato. While Maho is understandably horrified at their situation, Minato couldn’t be happier. As you might be able to tell from the slightly smug smile he sports on the manga cover, Minato is a clever and crafty guy, and he immediatly takes advantage of the unusual circumstances (and of Maho too :P) Soon enough they embark on an illicit affair. The usual obstacles block their path to happiness, but it’s fun to watch them deal with each as it comes up. The rival love interest is a bit unexpected, but I like him a lot too XD.
This main story takes up 2/3 of this volume, and looks like it will continue in another volume (as this one is marked as #1). The other story in this is extremely cute too. It is about a girl named HORII Saki who is dating a very gentle, nice guy. Their dates have a dark cloud over them in the form of her date’s older brother who always lurks near by. The brother is very protective of his younger sibling, and seems bent on scaring Saki away. He is a serious and surly guy (ahh my favorite! ^_^) and intimidates Saki quite a bit. Why is the brother so intent to see that Saki keeps away? There is a reason for the over-protectiveness, but you will need to buy this manga to find out! ^___^
