Okay, this one was purchased pretty much at random. I didn’t even look at who the author is. I just glanced at the cute cover and bought it. (I am such a manga addict! I need to move far away from a Kinokuniya, really!) I was happy to find the art is pretty clean (not all scratchy), and yow, Takashi is cute! I found I could really sympathize with the heroine of this manga. In many ways it is just your typical shoujo teen-romance thing, but it’s cute I tell you! ^_^ I saw two volumes of this at the store, but only picked the first one up. I need to go back and get #2!

Saki is in her last year in high school, and will soon be taking her college entrance exams. Unfortunately she just caught her boyfriend with another girl, so she is a bit unhappy and distracted. Needing help with her grades, Saki’s mother sends Saki next-door to borrow some school books for studying. Next-door lives a boy named Takashi, who Saki had known when they were little children. (Looks like she made his life hell ^_^) But at some point they drifted apart. Takashi is now in college, and Saki hasn’t seen him in years. She imagines he must look horrible now (judging by her memories of him as a little boy) but lo and behold, Takashi-chan is quite handsome! Lucky day for Saki! Not one to be shy, Saki makes her move rather quickly and kisses him, only to be rejected. 🙁 But Saki is not that discouraged. Takashi-chan is such a cool guy. He’s very mature, and goes to an exclusive first-rate college that Saki is now determined to get into! Saki really likes Takashi, and wants to be his girlfriend! But he’s a little older than Saki, and he is always this beautiful college girl who does NOT like Saki at all! And how does Takashi-chan feel? Well, he does not like Saki’s bold approach the first day. But will his opinion change at all? I need to find the second volume to see for myself! 🙂
