Gee. I wonder what could have possibly convinced me to buy this manga? I have absolutely NO idea. None at all. Totally clueless. Why, that hot guy right there on the cover surely had nothing to do with it! Bah, who am I kidding, I bought this for the eye candy cover of course! I didn’t realize until after I bought this that it is by the author of Hyoko Romantica, another fun series that I have summarized on this site. Cool! This book is just as cute. The art inside is adorable! She draws really cute guys, and I like the way some of her characters go into “70’s shoujo manga” mode when they are emotional ^_^ This is apparently the third volume of manga that this author has released. It is a collection of 4 short stories. I like this author a lot, and I hope she eventually does a longer series!
As usual, it is the first story that takes the name of whole volume. “Boku no Sekai, Kimi no Real” is about a girl named Yoshii-chan who has a huge crush on her classmate. It’s the hottie from the cover, Hagiwara-kun. She pretty much fell in love with him at first sight 2 years ago. But she has yet to work up the nerve to confess to him. In fact, their relationship tends to be an argumentative one. They tease and insult each other a lot. Yoshii uses rudeness towards Hagiwara as sort of a defense mechanism to protect herself from getting her heart broken. But now Yoshii has had enough of trying to pretend she isn’t in love with Hagiwara. She has to do SOMETHING!
When the two of them are assigned to do chores around their school during their spring break, Yoshii sees this as a perfect chance! They can be together every day, and she can confess her feelings! Unfortunately, things don’t go exactly as planned. It never seems to be the right moment! They are always arguing! Yoshii begins to lose confidence, and the words just can’t come out! What will she do!?
Next up is the story of a very cheerful girl named Emi. Her friends can’t understand how can she be so cheerful and nonchalant, considering her test scores absolutely stink, and it is almost time for exams again! Even though Emi is unconcerned about her grades, her mother has other ideas. She has hired a private tutor to help Emi raise her grades. His name is KUROSAWA Ryou, and he is a college student. And, hey, he is HOT! Even Emi’s mother has to agree that this is true, lol 🙂 But even though Ryou is handsome and gentle-looking, when it comes to tutoring, he is an evil taskmaster. The moment he puts on his glasses, his whole personality changes, and he becomes a demonic slave driver, pushing Emi to study hard. But in spite of all this, Emi finds herself falling for Ryou. Can she get her grades up and get the guy too?
The third story is similar to the second one, in that it is about a younger girl who has fallen for a college student. In this case, our heroine is 15 year-old UEHARA Mii. Mii-chan is totally in love with her childhood friend, Kaname-kun. Kaname is cute and smart, and in college. Mii-chan has known him since she was a small child. However, Mii-chan faces that horrible situation– Kaname doesn’t see her as a “girl”. Instead, he only sees her as “Mii-chan” the cute little kid. She is not girlfriend material in his eyes. This has Mii-chan very upset, but there is not much she can do, and she suffers a bit seeing Kaname date older girls.
Next up is a very silly story about a girl named Meg, and a boy Taichi. Taichi has just confessed to Meg that he likes her and wants to be her boyfriend. This should be great, right? WRONG! This is a day that Meg has been dreading! It’s not that she doesn’t like Taichi. She actually likes him a lot! But she has a secret. A problem. Something that will keep her apart from Taichi. What is it? She…. can’t have sex! Wait, what? Yes, Meg has a phobia/aversion to all things Ecchi. It stems from the traumatic childhood experience of finding her brother’s hidden porn stash and watching one of the videos. What she saw freaked her out so much, she can’t bear the thought of doing anything like that! This means she just can’t have a boyfriend! If she were to date Taichi, surely he would want to do it, right? Something I found funny in story is a scene where Meg tells Taichi about her problem. She ends up blurting it out in public, at a train station. In the background are Yoshii and Hagiwara from the first story. They are looking at Meg like she is psycho, hahaha! 😀 Anyway, how can Meg and Taichi sort things out?
Sounds really awesome!
Ohhh, I wish I could find it too buy =(
Great job ^_^
