I eagerly bought this because of the author. Natsumi MATSUMOTO is the author of 2 other volumes I talk about on this site, ‘Mezamereba Mermaid’ and ‘Vampire Kiss’. And like those volumes, this one relates a story that involves a normal girl and her brush with things magical! The art is, as usual, super cute, with the really large eyes that are so typical of series found in Ribon. And not only is the art cute, two of the characters have wings! Wai! I am a big fan of winged characters! 🙂 This is a one-shot volume. The first 4 stories are related, and take up a good 75% of the book. The last story is about different characters. I like the main story the best!
MINAMINO Sango (that seems like a strange name to me O_O) is 16 years old, and very cute and hyper. She is a good person, if a bit reckless. One day she rushes to help someone who is being attacked by a purse snatcher. After helping that person, she runs back to her friends who are waiting for her, but she doesn’t look before she crosses the street, and wouldn’t you know it, she is right in the path of an oncoming truck! Oh no! But amazingly, Sango isn’t hurt! She is resuced at the last minute by a… angel? A cute boy with black wings swoops down from nowhere and scoops her into his arms and away from the truck. Wow, is this guy a cutie! He has black hair, wings, and green eyes. He introduces himself as Kai. But Kai is no angel, and is, in fact, a devil! Sango is (needless to say ^^;) shocked at seeing Kai, but Kai is very comfortable with Sango, because he has been watching over her ever since she was born! (And he is a devil? This sounds like a guardian ANGEL to me…) He has watched over Sango as she grew up, helping her out of trouble without her knowing. And now he announces that starting tomorrow, he will stay with her and be one of her classmates at school! (he can make his wings disappear). He is determined to stay by her and continue his watch over her, even though she can now see him. Wow, I wish this happened to me, where is my black winged angel eh? 🙂 I want one! So now things are pretty strange for Sango! Kai shows up at her house, and then at school, and their relationship is pretty funny. They argue a lot! But things aren’t smooth sailing. They have adventures involving a classmate with angelic qualities, and a unicorn who really likes Sango! the last story in the volume is cute too, but it lacked the winged bishounen 🙂 It is about a schoolgirl and boy who discover these tiny butterfly-winged fairies.
