Hurrah! I have not just one, but TWO new Yuki YOSHIHARA books to summarize! This one is Ningyou Ouji, or Mermaid Prince. This is a very unusual story of Yoshihara sensei. It has supernatural stuff going on! So we get smutty comedy and magic, yay! Her stories are usually more reality-based, with characters that work in office settings. This book has three separate short stories, and all three of them are magical. Yes, two of the heroines are average office ladies. But they each experience some very magical romance. I want to see her do more magical stories like this! Yes, strange things are happening here…
The first story is the Ningyou Ouji story. Our heroine, Minako, is having a bad day. Her boyfriend tells her that he is in love with someone else. So she gets drunk, and then while stumbling home, manages to fall off a bridge into some water. No, it is not her lucky day. … or is it? Minako is struggling underwater when strong arms suddenly wrap around her and take her to shore. It is, of course, a really cute guy who has saved her! Minako is very thankful and amazed at how pretty the guy who saved her is. He doesn’t say much until she introduces herself. Then he starts repeating her name over and over, and begins to kiss her! Minako is completely swept away by him, and she is seduced right there at the riverbank. Minako can’t believe such a thing could happen to a typical office lady. A day or two later, Minako is trudging home from work when a very cute girl rushes up to her, calling out her name. Minako has no idea who this cute girl is, but the girl clings to Minako, begging to be kissed! Needless to say, Minako is a bit freaked out by this, but then the girl grabs Minako from behind and suddenly she is the guy sho saved Minako from the river!
Next up is a story with a heroine in a very sticky situation. What would you do if the ghost of your (very handsome) dead former boyfriend returns and decides to posess the body of the handsome guy at work you are interested in now? Our heroine is SO confused ^_^
Finally we get a story of opposites attracting, as a very mischevious demon girl decides to seduce a very pure, proper ‘good’ boy. His name is Ten (using the kanji for ‘heaven’_ and he is a preacher at a local church, and just one glimpse of our hero’s purity of spirit has our heroine hooked. She must have him! And how can he, no matter how pure he is, resist her demonic temptation?
