I had to get this volume when I saw it. How could I resist this?! The moment I noticed this, I immediatley thought ‘Hey… bishounen on a leash… this girl has the right idea!” Heheh shame on me! I’d kind of like to have a bishounen on a leash though! Er, anyway, I realized after I bought this that I have something else by this same author, ‘Petite Lover’ which I summarize elsewhere on this site. I really liked that one, and this one turned out to be just as cute! This appears to be a one-shot volume, but the entire tankoubon features stories about the same two main chatacters.
This is the story of Serena and Ka-chan, two high school students that have known each other for 10 years. Then they were little, their mothers introduced them and asked that they be friends. Serena decided at once that Ka-chan (a boy, by the way ^_^;) was absolutely adorable, and she thought it would be great to marry him! Right away she tries to be his friend, and they are happy. Serena is totally devoted to Ka-chan, whether he realizes it or not. As they were growing up, Serena tried to mold herself into whatever type of girl he liked. If Ka-chan admired a girl’s hair, Serena would work hard to perfect her hair and beauty. If he admired a girl for her intelligence, Serena would study hard and become the top of her class. She really worked hard to please Ka-chan.
Meanwhile, Ka-chan can only think that he is Serena’s plaything. She is always around him, teasing him, clinging to him, dressing him up or making him look funny in front of his friends. I don’t think he realizes how much effort Serena put into trying to please him. He cares about Serena as a friend, but does he really love her? He puts up with her anctics, but sometimes his temper can be stretched too far and he gets angry. He tends to think that Serena views him as a toy. But Serena is tough, and will not give in. She wants Ka-chan for herself, and will do anything to defend her right to have him 🙂 This is a cute and funny series I enjoyed a lot!
