Put two bishounens on the cover of a manga like this, and you just KNOW I will end up buying it when I see it 🙂 I’m a sucker for cute manga boys 🙂 I was even happier when I saw that the artwork INSIDE the volume was as excellent, if not more so, as the art on the cover. So~~ lovely to look at! 2/3 of this manga volume is the story of the 2 guys on the cover. The last third of the book is a different story with different characters. I didn’t find that story as interesting as the main one, so I am not really going to talk about it. The main story in this volume is cool enough to justify buying this book!
If you have seen that classic 80’s movie gem ‘Teen Wolf’ starring Michael J. Fox, then you can get an idea of what this manga is about. But imagine Teen wolf done with droolable bishounen characters instead 🙂 The story is about a high school guy named Kakeru who plays on his school basketball team and has a cute girlfriend. Lately Kakeru has been having really strange dreams about wolves that he doesn’t understand. One day during a game, he sees out of the corner of his eye, a guy standing in the shadows watching the game. But the guy’s eyes are glowing! This distraction causes Kakeru to be hit by a ball, and he is soon sent to the nurse’s office, where that strange guy shows up again and introduces himself as HOUJOU Shirou. He is also a student at Kakeru’s school, but in a higher grade. Kakeru doesn’t like Shirou at first. He gets a dark, sinister sort of feeling around him, and tries to avoid all contact with him. But it is no use. Shirou is determined to befriend Kakeru because it turnes out they are of the same kind. Yep, Shirou is a werewolf, and he informs the shocked Kakeru that he is a werewolf too! Kakeru doesn’t want to believe it, but must when Shirou gives him undeniable proof. Then Kakeru himself starts feeling strange sensations in his own body…
