And here is yet another cover with the weird color halo all over it. Pink again this time. When they do this, it starts getting difficult for me to tell the series apart! Er, anyway, I actually bought this without seeing the cover. Ordered it online 🙂 It’s the first volume of an ongoing series. I know that a volume 2 exists. I don’t have it yet, so I am not sure if the story ends there or continues. This is a fun story, though the artwork occasionally bothers me. This artist draws her hero very well, but the girl often looks kind of funny 😀 This volume is somewhat smutty, but I have feeling it will get much smuttier in volume 2 🙂

This is the story of Mihane-chan, a girl who has just started high school, and is determined to find love. Mihane is a very outgoing, straightforward girl. She is not shy about proclaiming her dream to find her destined lover and live happily ever after. Her personality is very focused and honest.

On the first day of school, before the opening ceremony, Mihane thinks she may have already found the boy of her dreams. His name is Kurose-kun, and he is a 3rd year senior. They have a rather painful meeting when Mihane falls from a fence she was climbing, and lands right on top of him. She is dazzled by his good looks. He seems nice, too, helping her up. She cheerfully lets him know about her dream of finding a great boyfriend before running off to class. He thinks she is strange, but interesting.

Kurose is not exactly a prince charming. He is popular at school, but not exactly in a good way. There are a lot of rumors about his dating habits, and how he is a total player. He is never serious about anyone. Mihane, unaware that this scandalous guy is the same one she met before, is surprised when she discovers that such a nice guy has all these things said about him. But in typical Mihane-fashion, she doesn’t really care, and decides he is her destined one anyway. She directly asks him to go out with her. Kurose, continually surprised by how direct and to the point Mihane is, does his best to convince her that he is not her dream guy, but she refuses to listen.

So begins a strange relationship. The main dynamic of this story is how a total slime and liar like Kurose is slowly changed by his dealings with Mihane, who is so honest and straightforward. Sometimes she is a bit simple in her view of things, and this sort of person is completely new to Kurose. Her cheerfulness and faith in him really makes him start to become a better person. Kurose has some baggage in his past involving a former girlfriend that has helped to make him into the unpleasant guy he is today. Can Mihane’s influence really make a permanent difference?

The main story takes up most of this volume and continues in volume 2, but there is an unrelated short story at the very end about a girl named Mikako who is in a very happy relationship with an older guy named Tsuyoshi. She likes him very much. The only problem is his surly younger brother, Kaname. Kaname is in her class at school, and is very mean to her. He doesn’t like her dating his brother, and he is always making trouble for her. This is a cute story, but the artwork in it is very messy and difficult to follow.
