Yeah, it was the cover and title that sold me on this manga ^_^ It just screams ‘Teacher-Student series!” so I could not resist! The strategically placed bunny plushie amuses me too. And while this turned out to be more of a tutor-student series instead, I still really enjoyed this book. This is a collection of 5 short stories that were originally published in Sho-Comi magazine. And woo hoo! This time they ARE a bit smutty, so be warned! I really like the art style in this book. The lines are solid and clean and the art isn’t cluttered and there is a definite ‘style’ to it. And, while the girls do tend to sleep with the guys a little bit too easily… (heh)… the stories are cute ^_^

This first story features our sexy teacher from the cover. Well actually, she is not really a teacher. Her name is Kanna, and she is a high school girl who is working as a tutor to a middle school student who is studying for his entrance exams. But oh, what a student he is! Haruku is tall and handsome, but he is having a lot of trouble with his studying and practice exam scores. Kanna cares a lot about Haruku and wants him to do well. She takes her role as a tutor seriously. Haruku wants to do well also, especially seeing as how he has a huge crush on Kanna. He tries to kiss her, and Kanna can only stand there in shock. He is her beloved student! She can’t do this! Desperate to both improve on his test scores and to win Kanna, he makes a deal with her — when he scores 80 on a practice exam, Kanna will agree to be his. Haruku studies hard. Maanwhile, Kanna can’t decide is she wants Haruku to score 80 or not…

Story 2 is called ‘My Lonely Prince’ and is about an average girl named Natsuki. She is a busy girl. She is in charge of her family and is always taking care of her younger twin brothers. She doesn’t have time to deal with this “Ei-sama” guy who seems to be really important at her school. The nerve of him, blocking the entrance to the school and causing her to be marked late! Natsuki has no problem expressing her opinion of Ei-sama right to his face. Naturally, as is usually the case in shoujo manga, Natsuki’s refusal to act like a sniveling doormat in front of him piques his interest. Ei, used to being in charge, is fascinated by Natsuki, and begins to torment and tease her a lot. However, Natsuki, used to taking care of small children, simply starts including Ei as one of her charges. She makes him lunch, and talks to him in a very straightforward way. Ei has never met anyone like Natsuki…

I laughed at the heroine in story 3. Her name is Chisa, and even though she looks innocent and scholarly on the outside, on the inside she is a bit different. Chisa is an artist, and her favorite subject matter is naked male chests! She has sketchbooks full of her drawings of manly torsos and chests. But when her secret obsession is discovered by her classmate Sora-kun, Chisa is in for a rough time! Chisa’s drawings interest Sora (he has no problem taking off his shirt to offer himself as a model) but this interest is bad news for Chisa. Sora is cute and popular, and there are people in their class who rather they stay apart…

Story 4 revolves around a date between a girl named Kureha and her new boyfriend Shiina. Shiina is 2 years older than Kureha, and they have only been dating for one month. This date is their first major outing. It is Kureha’s 17th birthday, and Shiina has agreed to take her to an amusement park. Even though he is her boyfriend, Kureha still feels a little nervous around him. They haven’t gone all the way yet, and any references Shiina makes to it make Kureha feel a bit panicky. She is very densitive about this, and even when he gets close to speak close to her ear, she freaks out a bit. As for Shiina, it seems obvious that Kureha is uncomfortable about the topic of sex, but he still teases her about it. Kureha feels very insecure, doesn’t know why he is dating someone like her, and eventually they have an argument. Will they ever manage to patch things up?

Finally, we have a silly story about a girl, Kira-chan, who is obsessed with shoujo manga (hey, that sounds familliar.. *ahem*). She dreams of finding a boyfriend like the heroes in shoujo manga. Her imagination runs a bit wild sometimes. And when she sees the class president SAKURAGI Naozumi, she can’t believe her eyes. He looks just like the guys from her manga! He is tall, handsome, and serious-looking, and he wears glasses. Kira thinks he would make a great boyfriend! But things have a way of NOT being like a shoujo manga, and Kira finds that winning Naozumi is not as easy as she thought….

So yes, this is a set of very cute stories, and yes, they can get smutty. There are even a few fanservicey shots and angles that look like they would be more at home in a shounen series. But I really enjoyed this book 🙂
